Established in the year 1981, we are leading organization engaged in manufacturing of different types of power cable fault locating instruments like surge generators, reflectometers, murray loop and acoustic fault locators. These instruments are used for tracing the route and finding faults in underground cables in several power generation, transmission and regulation applications. As the H.T and L.T cables are bound to develop faults after prolonged usage, our instruments helps in accurate rectification of faults and are based on latest technology. Our instruments are far superior to the traditional hit & trial methods that takes a lot of time and energy. Moreover, as the usage of XLPE cables have increased recently, the need for intelligent fault location system has increased as it becomes difficult to even locate and trace these cables. Our business activities were initiated by our mentor Mr. Ravii Gupta, who has provided us necessary guidance in complicated and confusing situations.

Sheath Fault Location

It is important for power cable, especially high voltage single core cable, to have a healthy sheath. Once the cable sheath is faulty, it would accelerate the aging process of cable insulation, and result in failure of the conventional on-line condition monitoring system due to inaccurate insulation measurement. TII provides specialized services for sheath fault location (66 KV to 220 KV). We have our expert team for sheath fault location, where others methods fail we deliver.

Cable Fault Location Services

We are providing fault location services throughout the India on all types of underground power cable faults.

UG Power Cable Route Tracing & Pinpointing

Route tracing is used to determine where the faulty cable lies and pinpointing is the process of determining the exact position of the cable fault.

UG Power Cable Identification

In cable identification, the faulty cables are identified from the fault-free cables at the already determined site.

Fault Location Procedures

Earlier manual hit and trial method was used to detect faults in the underground cables. But later numerous automatic fault detection procedures were developed and implemented that included Wheatstone Bridge, Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR), High Voltage Surge (Thump) and Intermittent Fault Location. This consumed a lot of timer and increased labor cost. Moreover, the chances of damaging the adjoining cables in the digging process were huge and also caused the reduction of strength and service life of the cable. Advantages And Application Of Our Instruments are used to find different types of faults in the cables such as :

  • Short Circuit (Dead zero faults)
  • Open Circuit faults
  • Low impedance (<300 ohms)
  • High Impedance (300 ohms > and < 30 Mega ohms)
